With its highly ranked nursing program and bargain-priced tuition, Pensacola Christian offers nursing students a Christian foundation as they build their health care careers.
About the University

Pensacola Christian College’s modern campus is home to nicely furnished multistory residence halls, palm trees, and plenty of Florida sunshine. Campus life includes intramural as well as intercollegiate athletics, a campus church, fine arts performances, community service opportunities, daily chapel hour, and an on-campus restaurant called Palms Grille. The campus also houses a Sports Center complete with climbing walls, an indoor water park, skating rinks, and a miniature golf course, in addition to racquetball courts and a running track. The campus is also close to plenty of shopping as well as historic sites and several picturesque, white beaches along the Gulf of Mexico.
PCC is remarkably affordable, largely due to its publishing house, A Beka Books: Annual tuition is only $4,100, and room and board is $3,400. While nearly 3 out of every 4 college graduates across the US graduate with significant educational debt, most PCC graduates finish their degrees with no debt, whatsoever. While the school does not accept federal loans or grants, students still in need of funding can apply for A Beka Foundation loans for up to $4,000 per year. It also has a Student Worker Program that can provide over $10,000 over a student’s 4-year college career.
About the Nursing School
In August 2010, Soliant Health listed PCC’s nursing program as #7 in the nation, just under the University of North Carolina. In the same analysis, which considered more than 30 other nursing school rankings, PCC joined only one other school in the US in receiving an “A” rating from student survey sites.
PCC’s nursing program is an outgrowth of the philosophy that nursing is “an expression of God’s love through service to man.” Christian faculty members endeavor to communicate their values to the nursing students and to show how their faith connects with their health care responsibilities. Academically, the school holds to a traditional education model, complemented by practical, hands-on experience.
PCC’s 4-year BSN program includes clinical activities in the Pensacola area, supervised by the school’s nursing faculty. The program is approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing. Nursing students not living on campus incur an additional non-residence fee of $1,675 per semester. Admission to the nursing program occurs at the sophomore level and includes scores from the Kaplan Entrance Exam required of freshmen in the spring.
